I'm fortunate enough to live 5 minutes (walking distance) away from a beautiful beach. It's called Leadbetter Beach and it has a lovely park right next to it, called Shoreline Park. I spend a lot of my mornings there going on a run or quick walk. The park is up on a hill so it has an amazing view of the Santa Barbara Harbor & Wharf. Pretty picturesque. It's safe to say I can't get enough of it.
My friends and I took a walk down on Friday to watch the sunset of course. It's so calming to just stare out into the sea. I can never quite put my finger on why it's so tranquil and pleasant, it's very difficult to put into words, but Kate Chopin gets pretty close....
“The voice of the sea is seductive, never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander in abysses of solitude.”
― Kate Chopin, The Awakening
